Depths of Hell Chapter 1: Part 2 The two hiked down the hallway. After nearly half an hour, they arrived in a large domed chamber. Inside were five pillars, though only three stood, spaced around a five sided pit. In the center sat a small rise with a pedestal at the top. Covering the floor of the dome were piles of bits of rubble, many obviously old equipment used for archeological excavations. Faded mosaic tiles shown through a path through the rubble toward a tent between the two fallen pillars.
"What is this place?" Nova asked.
"Don't know in the slightest!" Kur laughed loudly. "I think that is why I love this ruin so much! I have been studying it for over eighty years and I still don't have a clue." He glanced over at Nova, "that is why I will guarantee you membership in the guild if you find anything at all. The greatest dwelvers have scoured this place, and it is still a mystery." Depths of Hell Chapter 1: Part 1 Throughout time and before memory, civilizations have risen and fallen; leaving behind their bones in decaying ruins. These ancient ruins are called the Underground and have been slowly mapped out by a group called dwelvers.

The dim light he had seen as he charged through the tunnel after the monster could now be identified: torches. Rows of mysteriously lit torches lined the walls of the huge cave. At its center was a substantially large labyrinth of mirrors.

All monster-hunters wore a similar variety in Val's experience. It would serve him well in these close quarters of the mirrored maze.
Right, left, forward, left, right he turned, always catching a glimpse of the beast's tail as he wove his way through the corridors. Every so often he sp
